These are resources that I have tapped into from time-to-time and have found them to be very useful. If you can recommend any please let me know. I intend to update and review this page regularly.
Planning a getaway:
If you’re like me and like researching for and planning your holidays (sometimes I do too much research and end up with version marked spreadsheets on holiday plans!!!); the following sites are of great help.
http://www.tripadvisor.in – Good site for reviews of destinations, accommodation, and activities etc. Take a look at the deals on offer too.

Pregnancy & Parenting:
As you know the market is flooded with books on parenting. Along with the books, you strongly need to rely on your common sense & ‘mummy-brain’. The following books are all excellent in the advice that they provide, and have helped me a lot with my daughter. I have referred to many parenting books, but have sieved through and listed the really good ones here.
Books to have on your shelf:
Baby Love: Everything you need to know about your baby’s first year. By Robin Barker – Robin has been a very experienced midwife in Australia. Practical advice for baby’s first year. Have gifted this book to quite a few mothers who have all given positive feedback.
Dr R.K. Anand’s Guide to Child Care – A very good book on parenting in the Indian environment. Dr R.K. Anand, who is one of the most well-respected Indian paediatrician, has along with other subject matter experts covered a lot of things like ‘malishwalis’, Indian diets, child behaviour, common illnesses etc.
Pregnancy – The complete childbirth book. By Nutan Pandit – I referred to this book during my pregnancy, and found it useful in terms of tips & ways to a natural birth. I was careful not to use it as a substitute for appropriate medical advice. Still it helps with a lot of stuff like diet/ home-remedies etc.
The ‘What to expect’ series – I found these books to be a very useful goto guide/ wiki for certain child issues. It also gives a very good idea of the various stages of pregnancy/ baby behaviour etc.
What do you really want for your children? By Wayne W.Dyer – An excellent book, which I keep reading from time-to-time and helps me a lot with emotional and behavioural upbringing of my child. I would highly recommend this book as part of conscious parenting.
Websites:
http://www.kidsrgreen.org – Fun activities, games, information, stories etc. on environment awareness that parents and kids can do together.
Recipes: (how can the page be complete without this)
This list can go on & on, but I have put select few whose recipes I find interesting for what they do with the food.
http://www.sanjeevkapoor.com/ – I find this website very good in terms of the frills like welcome drinks/ desserts/ side dishes/ healthy chaats etc.
http://www.jamieoliver.com/ – If you have bit of time on hand, these recipes are excellent but work best with fresh produce (not out of the tin stuff).
Shobha Indani’s series of recipe books – When I first moved to Melbourne after marriage I was a newbie in terms of kitchen & cooking. This book helped a lot with detailed methods of keeping your kitchen organised & complete. Having attended her classes I can vouch for the recipes. A great wedding gift.
